Day 1. Vancouver, British Columbia – Tour Begins
Join us as we explore the beautiful resorts and spectacular scenery of the Canadian Rockies.

Day 2. Vancouver – Victoria

This morning, experience the city of Vancouver with a sightseeing tour. Visit Chinatown, one of North America’s largest; the vibrant waterfront area; and Gastown, Vancouver’s turn-of-the-century pedestrian mall and home of the world-famous steam-powered clock. Next, explore Stanley Park before boarding a ferry to Vancouver Island. Upon arrival enjoy a visit to Chemanius, a little town nestled between the mountains and the ocean, to see first-hand its world-famous giant wall murals. Later, arrive in the “City of Gardens,” Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, to begin your two-night stay in the breathtaking Fairmont Empress Hotel on the Inner Harbour. This evening, enjoy dinner overlooking the water.

Day 3. Victoria

Experience breakfast at Butchart Gardens in the original residence of the Butchart family. Following your meal, stroll through the 55-acre display of colourful gardens before returning to Victoria for a sightseeing tour of this historic city. The remainder of your day is at leisure to relax, shop or explore independently.

Day 4. Victoria – Kelowna

This morning board a BC Ferry for a spectacular cruise through the Gulf Islands with their dramatic coastlines. Once back on the mainland, travel through the lush landscape of British Columbia to the city of Kelowna in the rich and fertile Okanagan Valley.

Day 5. Kelowna

Today you’ll discover the wealth and bounty of the Okanagan Valley. Begin with a visit to a family-owned goat cheese farm. Your tour of the farm includes the ageing cellar and a tasting of a variety of their delicious products. Later, embark on a tour of Summerhill Pyramid Winery to learn their unique organic techniques. Enjoy lunch along with tastings of their popular wines while taking in the beautiful ambience.

Day 6. Kelowna – Lake Louise, Alberta

Depart the Okanagan Valley along the shores of Lake Okanagan and then travel along the upper Columbia River. Journey through Yoho National Park, named by the Cree (using their expression for “awe”). Continue to spectacular Lake Louise, showcasing incredible views of its emerald waters and the imposing Victoria Glacier. Overnight at the incomparable Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. This evening it’s Diner’s Choice…your dinner is included and you’ll choose the perfect spot from a “menu” of the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise’s great restaurants.

Day 7. Icefields Parkway – Choice of Glacier Experience or Glacier Skywalk

This morning experience breakfast at the spectacular Lake Louise Gondola. Then, board the gondola* and ascend to the top of Whitehorn Mountain in just fourteen minutes. From a height of 6,850 feet above sea level, savour spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Keep an eye out for the grizzly bears who call this mountain home! Set out on a journey along the unforgettable Icefields Parkway: behold lovely waterfalls, rushing rivers, glacial peaks, imposing cliffs and snowcapped mountain ranges. Stop at the Columbia Icefield and choose a fun ride** across this mass of glacial ice which is over 1,000 feet thick – the largest accumulation of ice south of the Arctic Circle; or, take a walk on the Glacier Skywalk to experience the breathtaking views of the Sunwapta Valley and witness the dramatic landscape from the glass-floored platform.

Day 8. Lake Louise – Banff

Depart Lake Louise and journey to Banff. Embark upon a scenic drive to view Moraine Lake and the incredible Valley of the Ten Peaks from which you will view the unusual “saw-toothed” Ten Peaks. Next, explore the Hoodoos – known as the “Land of the Sleeping Giants” – and powerful Bow Falls. Later, enjoy a visit to a local ammolite specialist where you will learn about this rare gemstone that is found only in Alberta. Your home this evening is the magnificent Fairmont Banff Springs, known as the “Castle in the Rockies.”

Day 9. Banff

Day 1. Halifax, Nova Scotia – Tour Begins
Welcome to Canada’s Maritimes region – an area of rugged and pristine beauty.

Day 2. Halifax – Peggy’s Cove – Halifax

This morning meet your fellow guests over breakfast with your Tour Manager. Explore Halifax’s charming downtown on a tour highlighting the waterfront, Public Gardens, Spring Garden Road and the famous Citadel. Later, visit one of the most picturesque spots in all of Canada – beautiful Peggy’s Cove. Its historic lighthouse overlooking the Atlantic Ocean provides one of the most memorable views you will ever see. This evening, enjoy dinner along the waterfront.

Day 3. Halifax – Cape Breton Island – Baddeck

En route to Cape Breton, enjoy a visit to the Millbrook Cultural & Heritage Centre to learn about the Mi’kmaq heritage and Glooscap legends; see artifacts including intricate quill and bead work; and learn some words from the Mi’kmaq language. Continue your journey along the Canso Causeway to stunning Cape Breton Island. Set out on a scenic drive by the pristine shores of Bras d’Or Lakes, Canada’s only inland sea. Upon arrival in Baddeck, explore the amazing variety of inventions on display at the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. This evening, savour a taste of Cape Breton with dinner featuring the local flavours and musical entertainment of this region. Later, we’ve arranged an old-fashioned bonfire (weather permitting) with music. It’s the perfect chance to dance the night away under the stars.

Day 4. Cabot Trail

Set off to explore the Cabot Trail and fall in love with its rugged terrain and spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. Visit the famed St. Peter’s Church in Cheticamp. Enjoy a picnic lunch in Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Even more beauty awaits as we pause at fishing communities along the coast, including lovely Neil’s Harbour. Next, stop at the Gaelic College. Watch North America’s first Gaelic language short film: Faire Chaluim MhicLeoid – the Wake of Calum MacLeod. Afterwards, learn how the Great Kilt was made during a brief kilt-making demonstration. Learn a few handy Gaelic phrases and join in the fun of a milling frolic…practice a Gaelic song while sitting around a table and beating a large loop of woollen cloth in rhythm.

Day 5. Baddeck – Prince Edward Island

This morning we take a short ferry ride to Prince Edward Island, the “Land Cradled on the Waves.” Upon arrival, venture to charming seaside Charlottetown for a tour along its narrow streets lined with quaint homes and hidden treasures. Tonight, enjoy a dinner showcasing the flavours of the island in a culinary masterpiece using fresh local products. Of course, PEI blue mussels will be among the items you will be able to taste!

Day 6. Prince Edward Island

Today you will come to know the rolling landscapes of Prince Edward Island, the backdrop of the acclaimed novel, Anne of Green Gables. Visit North Rustico’s celebrated wharf dotted with fishing boats and lobster traps. Arrive in delightful Cavendish and view Prince Edward Island National Park’s picturesque beaches. Visit the Anne of Green Gables House before returning to Charlottetown with time to explore this fascinating city.

Day 7. Prince Edward Island – Saint John, New Brunswick

This morning, leave Prince Edward Island behind as you cross the stately Confederation Bridge. Travel along the sea-sprayed shoreline to the amazing Hopewell Rocks. A New Brunswick icon, these flowerpot-shaped rocks carved by the Fundy tides seem to rise four stories high at low tide only to disappear into tiny islands when the tide is high*. Savour a traditional Maritimes lobster feast as you look out upon Daniels Flats. An expert teaches you how to crack and eat lobster like a local. Continue your journey through New Brunswick to the city of Saint John where you’ll enjoy a two-night stay in the bustling waterfront area.

Day 8. Saint John

Explore the awe-inspiring Fundy Trail, marvelling at the spectacular views of the famous tides. You can even sample Fundy seaweed! Day 10. Western Shore – Lunenburg – Western Shore

Experience the small fishing village of Mahone Bay before stopping at Amos Pewter to learn about the intricate artistry that goes into each piece. Next, travel along the beautiful Lighthouse Route towards Lunenburg. Explore this fishing village on a walking tour and discover how early settlers turned to the sea for survival. Enjoy a visit to the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic where you may choose to try its marvellous touch tank filled with local species. A local fisherman will teach you all about scallops and how to shuck them! Day 2. Calgary – Waterton Lakes National Park

This morning, journey south to the prairie lands while enjoying the distant views of the spectacular Rockies. Visit Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, one of the world’s oldest and best preserved buffalo jumps, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Head-Smashed-In, in the foothills of the Rockies, has been used continuously by Aboriginal people for over 5,500 years. Continue travelling south to Waterton Lakes National Park. En route, pass through quaint villages and travel along roads sometimes traversed by grizzly bears, black bears, mountain goats, cougars, wolves, moose and elk. Arrive at the Prince of Wales Hotel, a National Historic Site of Canada. Enjoy some leisure time to explore the grounds and capture some photographs to show your friends back home. Tonight, enjoy dinner overlooking Waterton Lake.

Day 3. Waterton Lakes-Glacier National Park, Montana, USA-Waterton Lakes, AB

Today we experience Glacier National Park. A naturalist’s paradise, Glacier preserves over one million acres of forests, Alpine meadows and lakes, and is home to over 70 species of mammals and 270 species of birds. Enjoy a ride aboard one of its famous Jammer cars – built in the 1930’s – over one of the most breathtaking roads in North America. “Going to the Sun Road”* stretches across the Continental Divide and offers incredible views of the valley and Glacier National Park.

Day 1. Vancouver, British Columbia – Tour Begins
Join us for a remarkable journey through the stunning landscapes, charming towns and beautiful lakes of the Canadian Rockies. Your adventure opens in Vancouver.

Day 2. Vancouver – VIA Rail

A city tour of Vancouver begins this morning at beautiful Stanley Park, Canada’s renowned urban rainforest, and continues to Chinatown, the waterfront, and Gastown, a turn-of-the-century centre comprised of pubs, art galleries, boutiques and the world-famous steam-powered clock, perhaps the most photographed subject in all of Vancouver. Stroll picturesque Granville Island and its fascinating markets. This evening, enjoy dinner overlooking the city skyline. Later, board VIA Rail’s The Canadian to begin your journey to the majestic Canadian Rockies. Relive train travel in the days of old as you are rocked to sleep tonight in your private accommodation.

Day 3. VIA Rail – Jasper, Alberta

Enjoy a lovely hot breakfast in the dining car as your eastbound train whisks you past the peaks of the Monashee Mountains and the stunning sight of Pyramid Falls cascading down Mt. Cheadle. Relax in the Dome car as you experience 360-degree views of the glistening glaciers of the Albreda Icefields and on a clear day, view Mt. Robson – the highest peak of the Rockies! Moose, mountain goats, bear and caribou call this wonderland home. This afternoon, arrive in Jasper, nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies at the gateway to the incredible Icefields Parkway. This evening, enjoy a “Taste of Alberta” dinner complete with several choices featuring various Alberta products and special recipes that highlight the cuisine of the province.

Day 4. Jasper

This morning we travel to Maligne Lake and enjoy breakfast* against the backdrop of the picture-perfect sparkling waters of Maligne Lake, the largest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies. Whilst there you may choose to embark on an optional cruise highlighting the beauty of Spirit Island. Later, enjoy the dramatic Maligne Canyon, one of the area’s most spectacular landmarks. Return to your hotel with leisure time to explore this lovely town.

Day 5. Icefields Parkway-Glacier Experience or Glacier Skywalk-Lake Louise

Set off for a wonderful day of sightseeing en route to Lake Louise. Journey along the unforgettable Icefields Parkway! Waterfalls, rushing rivers, glacial peaks, imposing cliffs and snowcapped peaks paint the breathtaking canvas – so have your camera handy! Enjoy a stop at the Athabasca Falls and marvel at its sheer beauty and power. Stop at the Columbia Icefield and choose a fun ride** across this mass of glacial ice which is over 1,000 feet thick – the largest accumulation of ice south of the Arctic Circle; or, take a walk on the Glacier Skywalk to experience the breathtaking views of the Sunwapta Valley and witness the dramatic landscape from the glass-floored platform. Continuing down the parkway, be on the lookout for bears, furry marmots and stately elk. Enjoy a stop at Peyto Lake – a turquoise glacier-fed lake that evokes pure serenity – before arriving in Lake Louise. Enjoy a stay at the world-famous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. This evening it’s Diner’s Choice…your dinner is included and you’ll choose the perfect spot from a “menu” of the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise’s great restaurants.

Day 6. Lake Louise – Banff

En route to Banff, view the spectacular Moraine Lake and the awe-inspiring Valley of the Ten Peaks. The jagged Ten Peaks are distinctively saw-toothed, standing out amidst stunning Alpine scenery. Arrive at the grand Fairmont Banff Springs, known as the “Castle in the Rockies,” for a luxurious two-night stay. Day 7. Banff

Set off for a scenic drive through Banff featuring the powerful Bow Falls and Hoodoos – known as the “Land of the Sleeping Giants.” Next, meet a local ammolite specialist to learn about this rare gemstone found only in Alberta. During an afternoon at leisure, perhaps you will take a stroll through Banff’s delightful downtown.

Day 8. Banff – Calgary

Leave the wonders of the Rockies for the prairies of Alberta en route to the Kananaskis Valley. Visit a local ranch where you can play a game of horseshoes, take a line dance lesson and enjoy a wagon ride** in search of buffalo. Then, delight in a traditional Albertan barbecue with beautiful views of the mountains in the background. Later, enjoy the views of the prairies before you reach the vibrant city of Calgary.
