Get acquainted with the people and the food at Gibbs Farm, a historic coffee and vegetable farm. Continue on to Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera and known as one of the seven natural wonders of Africa. Spend time in the Serengeti taking in five game drives, including two in the early morning to catch a glimpse of the wildlife returning from a night of hunting. Discover stunning Lake Eyasi, a beautiful oasis in the bush that boasts a tropical ecosystem. Gain a real insight into the way of life of some of Tanzania’s fascinating tribe. Meet the Datoga tribe – skilled farmers, craftsmen and blacksmiths, and the Hadzabe tribe – learn how they hunt and live off the land. Itinerary
Day 1. Arusha, Tanzania – Tour Begins
Explore Tanzania, a land of untouched landscapes, diverse wildlife and welcoming people. Stand in awe of the vast panoramas, get up-close to the wildlife and get to know the unique cultures of the region on your safari adventure. Your tour opens in Kilimanjaro. Take a short drive to Arusha, located at the base of breathtaking Mount Meru, for your overnight stay,

Your journey begins at Gibb’s Farm, overlooking the Great Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Crater. Arrive in time for a farm-fresh lunch before joining an expert on a walk through the coffee fields and vegetable farm; learn about the farm from its inception to its cultivation methods of today. Continue to Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The crater is a large volcanic caldera and known as one of the seven natural wonders of Africa.

Day 3. Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, begin your search for the “Big 5” (lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards and rhinos) as you travel into the crater for a full day in the African bush. Pause during your adventure for a relaxing picnic lunch. On your drive back, make a stop in a Maasai village. Here you’ll meet the residents and see what tribal life is like before returning to your lodge, set high on the rim of the crater.

Day 4. Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti
Depart this morning for the Serengeti, renowned for its large lion population and one of the best places to observe prides in their natural environment. Have time for a short game drive before arriving at your lodge for lunch. Later in the day, venture out to explore the open plains of Serengeti National Park. Day 6. Serengeti National Park
Rise before the sun for your adventure into the plains in your continued search for the “Big 5.” Be watching for lions, giraffes, zebras, elephants and other wildlife that reside here. Return for breakfast and more leisure time to enjoy the offerings of your lodge. Your afternoon game drive allows you to witness the sunset over the vast park.

Day 7. Serengeti – Lake Eyasi
Venture to Lake Eyasi, located just south of the Serengeti. Lake Eyasi is a wild, scenically stunning area where you can get a real insight into the way of life of some of Tanzania’s fascinating tribes. This beautiful oasis in the bush boasts a tropical eco-system that provides the perfect atmosphere for its eclectic collection of birds that reside here.

Day 8. Lake Eyasi
Your day includes two experiences of a lifetime as you get to know the tribal people of the lake region. Begin by meeting the Datoga tribe — skilled farmers, craftsmen and blacksmiths. See where they live and experience their culture first-hand. Continue on to the Hadzabe tribe and learn how they hunt and live off the land. Listen to their interesting tales of coexisting with the nearby Datoga tribe.

Day 9. Lake Eyasi – Tarangire
Travel to Karatu town, located in the African Rift Valley. Following lunch, continue to Tarangire National Park, famous for its elephant migration and quiet atmosphere. Embark on an afternoon game drive in the park which is home to the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti.

Day 10. Tarangire National Park
Enjoy a final day in search of unique wildlife with morning and afternoon game drives. Continue to check more interesting sights off your list as the park’s arid climate reveals crowds of wildlife, including wildebeest, zebra, buffalo and gazelle competing for a drink from receding lagoons.

- The highest elevation you will experience on tour is in Tanzania – 7,500 feet, Ngorongoro Crater.

To truly experience the programme and destination, you need to be able to participate in physical activities such as longer walking tours, walking over uneven terrain, climbing stairs and periods of standing.
