Open your tour with a dinner overlooking the picture-perfect bay on Pier 39, framed by the Golden Gate Bridge and the island of Alcatraz. Choose from a city tour or a cruise on San Francisco Bay. Enjoy free time to explore San Francisco’s diverse culinary delights and don’t forget to hop aboard one of its famed cable cars. Come to know the region with trips to nearby Napa and Monterey. Ride the elegant Napa Valley Wine Train and take a ride along the beautiful 17-Mile Drive. In Old Monterey, shop at Cannery Row, made famous by John Steinbeck. From the Twin Peaks to the Seal Rocks to Fisherman’s Wharf, savour all this great American city has to offer.


Day 1. San Francisco, California – Tour Begins
Your tour opens as you join us in exciting San Francisco, “The City by the Bay.” Tonight, get to know your fellow travellers during a welcome dinner on Pier 39, overlooking beautiful San Francisco Bay, and savour postcard views of the Golden Gate and Bay bridges, Alcatraz** and the San Francisco Bay.

Day 2. Choice of San Francisco Bay Cruise or City Tour of San Francisco

A locally guided tour of the city begins with a visit to the famous Palace of Holyroodhouse*, once the home of Mary, Queen of Scots. Embrace the culture of Edinburgh as you enjoy an afternoon to explore independently.

Day 3. San Francisco – Napa Valley – San Francisco

Travel to the lush Napa Valley. With over 40 premium wineries, it is one of the most famous wine-growing regions in the country. Experience a delicious lunch in an elegantly restored Pullman car on the Napa Valley Wine Train.

Day 4. San Francisco – Monterey – San Francisco

Travel to Monterey, the city often called the greatest meeting of land, sea and sky. It’s where California’s statehood began in 1849. Monterey is filled with lovingly restored historic buildings and Spanish adobes, and is home to the famed 17-Mile Drive, also known as one of the most breathtaking coastlines in the world. Along the drive you will pass through the Del Monte Forest and see such famous sights as the Lone Cypress Tree, perhaps the most photographed tree in the world; Seal Rock, where the seals may actually bark at you; and the prestigious Pebble Beach Golf Course*, where the fairways run along seaside cliffs. Time is available to independently explore charming Monterey and shop at Cannery Row, made famous by John Steinbeck. Enjoy dinner in Monterey before returning to San Francisco.
